It’s the week of Thanksgiving, meaning the holiday season has officially begun. With the holiday celebrations comes beloved TV specials, many of which are airing this week. Things kick off early in the week with “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer,” the 1964 tale about a misfit who saves the day, airing on CBS at 8 p.m. Monday.
Another highlight occurs on Thursday, of course, with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This year’s festivities will be back in back in pre-pandemic structure, with 15 giant character balloons, 28 floats, 36 novelty and heritage inflatables, more than 800 clowns, 10 marching bands, nine performance groups and, in yearly tradition, Santa Claus, for the 95th annual parade.
“Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town,” an origin story of Santa, will play on ABC at 8 p.m., while “Frosty The Snowman” will come to life on CBS. Just before, “The Year without a Santa Claus,” will air on Cartoon Network at 6 p.m. It will also show on Dec. 3 at 12:15 a.m. on AMC.
