Ready for 4th of July? Here’s where to enjoy fireworks in Maryland, Delaware and Virginia
From Ocean City and the Delaware beaches to the north to Cape Charles at the southern end of the Delmarva Peninsula, residents are ready to celebrate the Fourth of July with fireworks and parties.
Ocean City this year has not one but two fireworks shows bookending the Fourth of July celebrations — thanks to a labor squeeze. 4th of july Liberty Enlightening the World Unisex T-Shirt, Salisbury’s annual Red White and BOOM takes place Monday, July 4, with fireworks capping an evening of fun at James M. Bennett High School.
Elsewhere on Delmarva, you have plenty of options for your patriotic festivities, with parades, music, food and fun to be had along with fireworks spectaculars.
So grab your chairs and blankets and head out for these Fourth of July festivities:
Salisbury
This Tuesday, July 4, 2017 photo shows a fireworks display at the annual Red, White & Boom light show on Independence Day at the Wicomico County Stadium in Salisbury.
Fireworks and fun will light up Salisbury for the annual Fourth of July Red White and BOOM celebration.
Bring your chair or blanket to enjoy the festivities Monday, July 4, starting at 6:30 p.m. at The Shipyard, James M. Bennett High School’s sports stadium on East College Avenue.
In addition to the free community fireworks, there will be food, Ice cream, and music. There will be plenty of free parking.
Ocean City
The fireworks lit up the sky in Ocean City as the end of the 2017 4th of July Celebration comes to an end on Tuesday July 4, 2017.
Ocean City officials have turned a labor shortage into an advantage by splitting its upcoming Independence Day fireworks shows over two days and adding a very special guest for the second night.
The firework company contracted to provide fireworks for the holiday celebrations originally both set for July 4 told officials that labor shortages resulted in having inadequate staff to host the events as expected. Now town officials have decided to split the shows over two days.
The fireworks shows for the resort are now set for July 3 and July 5.
On July 3, an “intimate” Independence Day celebration is planned at Northside Park during Sundaes in the Park, featuring a 7 p.m. concert by Mike Hines & the Look, followed by a condensed firework show at 9 p.m.
On July 5 at 8 p.m., “American Idol” star and Salisbury native Jay Copeland will take the stage at Northside Park.
Downtown on July 5, Ocean City will feature music beginning at 8 p.m. and fireworks beginning at 9:30 p.m. The show will include new fireworks elements by Celebration Fireworks Company. Due to the height of the new fireworks display, visitors should view the show from the beach between the fishing pier and Third Street.
Berlin
The town of Berlin will hold Fourth of July fireworks on Sunday, July 3 at dusk.
Viewing areas include the Dunkin Donuts parking lot at Route 113 and Old Ocean City Boulevard and at Sunrise Church on westbound Route 50.
Ocean Pines

4th Of July 2021 The Mask Patriot Unisex T-Shirt
The Ocean Pines Recreation and Parks Department will host a Fourth of July fireworks celebration from 5-8:45 p.m. Monday, July 4, at Veterans Memorial Park on Route 589 and Cathell Road.
The event features carnival games, dry slides and bounce houses for children, plus live music and food and drink vendors.
Children’s wristbands are $10 and are good for all slides and bounce houses. Wristbands will be required for those attractions only. General admission is free.
Fuel your hometown passion and plug into the stories that define it.
Fireworks are scheduled to start at 9:15 p.m. and will launch from the north side of the pond, by Cathell Road. A viewing zone will be fenced off from Manklin Creek Road to the Veterans Memorial. There will be no viewing along Ocean Parkway, from Cathell Road to Manklin Creek Road.
There will also be a “safe zone” marked by an orange fence, from the pond to the firehouse. No one may enter the marked area.
Bring lawn chairs and blankets.
Parking will be available in the area near the Ocean Pines Library and Taylor Bank. Parking will not be allowed along Ocean Parkway. Limited handicapped parking will be available in a marked area just south of the Sports Core Pool.
In case of inclement weather, the fireworks display will move to Tuesday, July 5.
Snow Hill
Fireworks will light up the sky above Pocomoke River when Snow Hill hosts its second First Friday Independence Day celebration on July 1 starting at 5 p.m.
Stroll Green Street for extended business hours, and enjoy enjoying tunes from Klassic Soul and beverages from the Downtown Snow Hill’s cash bar. There will be activities for kids.
