Genesect has already been available in various forms in Pokémon GO – this interstellar monster is very versatile and can be equipped with various modules that give it different attacks. In this case, Techno Drive.

Shock Genesect will be available for the first time as a level-five raid boss in the smartphone game from Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 10am local time until Monday, January 24, 2022, at 10am local time. Completely independent of its equipped module, Genesect sports 47,836 Competition Points (CP) as a raid boss. Defeat the alien legend and you can capture it with a strength between 1,833 and 2,395 CP, with rain and snow drawing out the stronger specimens. Genesect is a Bug and Steel-type Pokémon, which results in a double weakness to Fire – so your line of attack for the raid is crystal clear.

In this raid you don’t need a sophisticated strategy or finesse: just burn down anything that even remotely looks like an alien metal insect – generally good advice if you encounter alien constructs often. The double weakness against Fire attacks, whose damage is increased by a multiplier of 2.56, simplifies team composition for the raid and allows you to defeat the boss fairly easily even as a duo.

Throw a mega evolution of a Fire-type like Charizard into the fray and you can even score handsome rewards in the process. As always, though, the faster the boss is eliminated, the more reward awaits at the end. Therefore, form as large a group as possible even if you’re confident to win with lower numbers.
