In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, trainers can find several valuable items throughout the Sinnoh region that have no other use than to be sold for profit. For the most part, the in-game descriptions of these items indicate that they can be sold for a high price, but since some other Pokémon games do have uses for many of them, players might be hesitant to simply sell them. However, since the only purpose for these items in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl is to make money, players can take them to any PokéMart in Sinnoh to earn some extra cash.
Trainers earn prize money every time they defeat a trainer or beat a gym leader in Pokémon BDSP. As the game goes on, collecting and selling valuable items is a great way to keep earning money in the postgame without rematching trainers with the VS. Seeker. Valuable items are stored in the Treasures pocket of the Item Bag, along with some more useful items like Shards and Heart Scales. While these types of items can also be sold, they’re not only significantly less valuable but have purposes in the game that make them worth holding onto.
In Gen V, there were NPCs added to the game that would pay double for certain valuable items like Collectors and Item Maniacs, but since these hadn’t been introduced as of the original Pokémon Diamond & Pearl of Gen IV, they don’t appear in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl either. Instead, trainers can take these treasures straight to the PokéMart without worrying there might be a better deal out there waiting for them. While most of these items can be found while exploring the Sinnoh region, many can also be obtained through other methods, allowing players to collect enough to earn plenty of money selling them.
Selling Big Mushroom In Pokémon BDSP
Despite the Big Mushroom’s item description hinting at a possible collector who might be interested in buying them, no such collector appears in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, and players can simply sell them to any PokéMart for 2,500 PokéDollars. Big Mushrooms can be found in Mt. Coronet, the Solaceon Ruins, and Victory Road, as well as on Route 222, Route 226, and Route 229. However, most of them are hidden and can be found more easily with the help of Pokétch’s Dowsing App, which can help trainers track down their exact locations.
In addition, wild Paras and Shroomish have a chance of holding a Big Mushroom when caught, and Pokémon with the Pickup ability can find Big Mushrooms if they’re under level 30. Trainers can also come across Tiny Mushrooms in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, and while these are much more common than Big Mushrooms, they only sell for 250 PokéDollars. However, like their larger and more valuable counterparts, Tiny Mushrooms have no other purpose than to be sold.

Selling Big Pearl In Pokémon BDSP
As Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl’s in-game description of the Big Pearl suggests, there isn’t any use for this lovely gem aside from selling it to make a profit. Big Pearls sell for 3,750 PokéDollars and can be found by catching wild Shellder and Clamperl, which each have a 5% chance of holding one when caught. However, there are several locations where trainers can find Big Pearls in the Sinnoh overworld, including Route 213, Route 223, Route 224, Route 226, and Victory Road.
Like the Big and Tiny Mushrooms, players can also find regular-sized Pearls in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, though they only sell for 700 PokéDollars. However, wild Shellder and Clamperl have a 50% chance of holding one when caught, making them much easier to obtain than Big Pearls. Pearls can also be found on Route 213, Route 220, Route 223, Route 224, and Victory Road, as well as Canalave City and Sunyshore City in Pokémon BDSP.
Selling Nuggets In Pokémon BDSP
Nuggets are one of the most valuable items in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl and sell for a hefty total of 5,000 PokéDollars each. These gold nuggets are relatively rare, but trainers can find them on Route 210, Route 217, and Route 229 as well as inside Galactic HQ, the Resort Area, Wayward Cave, Mt. Coronet, the Victory Road National Pokédex area, and Stark Mountain. Additionally, Pokémon with the Pickup ability will be able to find Nuggets once they are above level 21.
Selling Rare Bone In Pokémon BDSP
Like Nuggets, Rare Bones are another fast way to make money in Pokémon BDSP with a selling price of 5,000 PokéDollars. Rare Bones were initially introduced to the Pokémon series in the original Diamond & Pearl as rare treasures that could be uncovered in the Underground. Players will be able to find them by digging in the remakes’ Grand Underground as well. Unlike Fossils, Rare Bones can’t be revived into Pokémon and have no use aside from being sold, so players can skip the trip to the Oreburgh Mining Museum and head straight to the nearest PokéMart.
Selling Stardust In Pokémon BDSP
While Stardust is essential in Pokémon GO, it doesn’t have any use in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl and can be sold to shops for 1,000 PokéDollars instead. Additionally, wild Staryu has a 50% chance of holding Stardust when caught, as do wild Lunatone and Solrock, which can only be found in the Grand Underground. Stardust can also be found on Route 224 and Route 228, as well as Oreburgh City, Wayward Cave, Mt. Coronet, and the Lost Tower.

Selling Star Piece In Pokémon BDSP
Star Pieces sell for 4,900 PokéDollars in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, making them another of the game’s most valuable items. While the original Pokémon Diamond & Pearl featured several Star Pieces that could be found by exploring Sinnoh, Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl has made them rarer and harder to find. Star Pieces can be dug up in the Grand Underground in Pokémon BDSP, and wild Staryu have a 5% chance of holding a Star Piece when caught. However, while Star Pieces are one of the more valuable items that can be sold in the game, trainers can also trade a Star Piece for 10 Large Pale Spheres with an NPC in the Grand Underground located just beneath Twinleaf Town. They’re one of the only valuable items with an additional purpose in the game, and players can choose to earn either Spheres or PokéDollars if they’re lucky enough to find a Star Piece in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.
