The upcoming Barbie film by Greta Gerwig has just got a new soundtrack addition from two of the hottest names in music: Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice. The rap duo have teamed up to create a catchy and fun song called “Barbie World,” which pays homage to the iconic doll and her lifestyle. The song, produced by RiotUSA, samples and remixes the classic 90s hit “Barbie Girl” by Aqua, giving it a fresh and modern twist. “Barbie World” is the album’s fourth single, after Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night,” Karol G’s “Watati,” and PinkPantheress’ “Angel.” The album and film will be available on Friday, July 21.
Nicki Minaj, whose followers are known as Barbz and who released “Barbie Tingz” in 2018, previously teamed with Ice Spice on “Princess Diana.” Her Queen sequel is set to be released on October 20.
In January, Ice Spice released her debut EP, Like…? In 2023, she had three number-one singles: “Princess Diana,” “Boys a Liar, Pt. 2” (with PinkPantheress), and “Karma” (with Taylor Swift).
