Treasure maps have been added to Fortnite as part of a recent update and will lead you to valuable caches of loot buried around the game.
This latest addition is part of an ongoing crossover with the new Uncharted movie. Not only can players buy Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer-themed cosmetics from the Item Shop, but they can also channel the spirit of those plucky adventurers by seeking out fortune and glory on the island.
On the subject of those outfits, they each come in a pair of selectable styles, so that you can choose if you want to look like the characters from the original Uncharted games, or their controversial movie counterparts. The bundles also come with a few extras, like harvesting tools designed to resemble ancient swords and an emote that has Nate jotting down findings in his iconic journal.
f you choose to get the whole set it will cost 2,300 v-bucks, while the individual costumes on their own are priced more affordably at 1,500 v-bucks.

Whether you decide to equip these new skins or not, you will still be able to pick up a “Nathan Drake’s Map” for free and hunt for gold around the island. These new challenges are available to everybody and are currently live in Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode (where they will remain until the end of Chapter 3, Season 1).
Here is everything you need to know about where to find the treasure maps and how they lead you to enticing legendary rewards.
Where to Find Drake’s Map in ‘Fortnite‘

Before you can procure any treasure itself, you will first need to find one of the corresponding treasure maps.
These have been added to the standard Fortnite loot pool, which means that there is nowhere in particular you should be looking to find them. Instead, they will be lying around the island in random places, stored in random chests and can be found in random supply drops. You can easily spot the maps from a distance, as they will be emitting a golden glow.
How to Use Treasure Maps in ‘Fortnite’
If you are lucky enough to find a map then it will take up a slot in your inventory, as though it were a health kit or a weapon.
When you have the item equipped, a dotted line will appear in front of you charting the way to the nearest buried treasure chest. If you cycle to a weapon at any time (when you get into a firefight for instance), then the path will instantly disappear, but you can get it back by just retrieving the map again.
Continue to follow the dotted line until eventually you come across a giant X on the ground, indicating (in classic pirate fashion) where the buried treasure can be found. For you as the map holder, this spot will be glowing so that it’s easier to see.
Head over to the giant X and hit it with your harvesting tool until you unearth the chest. When you open it up, you will then be rewarded with a collection of legendary weapons.
