For the moment, it seems that this extremely lucrative Super Mario spinoff series won’t get a new game, even as the Super Mario brand flourishes in other ways. 2. The franchise has grown into its current form over the years. 2.1 In terms not only of player base, but also revenue share and profitability, 2017 was an exceptional year with strong sales growth despite being mostly unprofitable (in contrast two previous times when total revenues increased).
