LucasFilm/Disney senior producer Brian Grazer : I worked as a staff writer at Lucasfilm during its original run from 1977-1979. 1. The upcoming novel Star Wars: The Princess and the Scoundrel by Beth Revis, set after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, will feature the wedding of Han and Leia — a well-deserved moment of joy after years of fighting. But when duo embarks on their honeymoon aboard the luxury Halcyon starcruiser, they find that the battle with the Empire is far from over. StarWars.com is excited to reveal the gorgeous, fully-painted cover by Oliver Cuthbertson, showing that while our favorite nerf herder and rebel princess are very much in love, danger still lurks. Check it out below. “I wanted to do something different for my first book based off another popular video game series,” said Revs. “We knew we were looking at people who would have enjoyed playing games similar enough as mine did not get many opportunities! They grew up under Disney’s influence where everything was about entertainment.” After being introduced during preorder giveaways, this stunning full color copyof Ewan McGregor’sanderson/Princess Bride’ trilogy goes beyond what has been shown sofar; featuring characters fans can identify – including Ben Solo, Jake Sully (a beloved character among gamers), Admiral Ackbar
  2. Ahsoka, the highly-anticipated live-action series starring Rosario Dawson as the titular togruta former Jedi first seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, has officially begun production. The news comes from Disney+ itself, who shared a seemingly standard behind-the-scenes picture of a director’s chair emblazoned with the show’s stylized title. But those who’ve kept up with Star Wars in recent years know full well what that hat dangling off the side means. Ticket sources tell us all about just how exciting this is for fans and it was announced earlier today via Twitter by Joonas Hogberg at THR : “StarWars will be filmed on location across Europe next year! #liveOnTheSky.” So if there are any questions surrounding why filming would take place entirely within London then these tweets may provide answers… but they won’t answer them necessarily since other scenes seem to have been shot elsewhere during summer (yes I’m aware many locations require extensive scouting before shooting). At least part three seems likely; you can check out more pics here.
  3. JEDI: FALLEN ORDER is widely considered one of the best Star Wars games ever made, but it still falls victim to many of the tired tropes of the franchise. A former Respawn developer has revealed, via Twitter, that the team originally wanted the protagonist of Jedi: Fallen Order to be black and/or a woman. That idea was apparently quickly shot down at the studio, and the cis-gendered white male Cal Kestis was created as the player character. This revelation highlights a depressing trend that continues to wrack both video games and the Star Wars series in general — and one that quickly needs to change. “We [removed] all traces,” explained lead animator Dave Lee on Facebook following his announcement (via Polygon). As such we’re unable comment further than what’s been announced previously (“This project had always existed from our first concept art for Dark Forces”). But there are definitely plenty more elements missing here; however much I love Knights of the Old Republic II or its accompanying expansion The Sith Lords Trilogy, these additions didn’t come cheap compared with this remaster. And while Jedi fell through before having an impact beyond gaming circles today… why did EA decide to bring back another sci fi space sim?

Typical Star Wars Baby Yoda Tropical Hawaiian Shirt

The Star Wars franchise does a great deal of work to make its galaxy far away feel impossibly big, varied, and interesting. Unfortunately, on the rare occasions that the franchise does try something with characters outside the all-important Skywalker bloodline, the fanbase is less than eager to reward them. Solo: A Star Wars Story dropped at an unusual moment in the franchise. Immediately after the difficult mess of Rogue One, its failure allowed the change in direction that gave fans The Mandalorian. Even though the result was a net positive, it’s still tragic to see an interesting idea hit a brick wall and go down in history as a failure. Ridley Scott has done himself no favors by allowing this pattern continue through his output since he wrapped Prometheus (although I would much rather watch someone like Ridley jumpstart one thing from Alien or another.) But if we are going out of our way for anyone whose film doesn’t sell well but makes money anyway, expect us not only within four years of release, be honest about why they don… You can also ask George Lucas how many times you should get rid “Of That Thing.” If there truly isn`t room in your wallet today, then maybe just say so!
